Pinnacle Bank Arena, Lincoln, Neb.
Date Announced: Dec. 6
Owner/Tenant: City of Lincoln/ UNL Basketball
Terms: $11.25 million over 25 years
The under-construction arena in the West Haymarket area of Lincoln, Neb., has an official title sponsor: Pinnacle Bank. According to the official press release from the City, the agreement breaks down to about $400,000 a year and specifies that an additional $20,000 will be paid each year the arena serves as the venue for high school tournaments in volleyball, basketball or wrestling.
Pinnacle Bank will be represented by three exterior signs, the Pinnacle Bank Arena logo on the center-hung scoreboard and public exterior doors and signage on the main and upper concourses. They will receive a suite, use of the arena for two days each year, and three ATM machines throughout the facility.
Pinnacle Bank Arena is expected to open in Fall 2013 and will span 470,400 square feet. The $179-million project is mostly funded by a voter-approved taxation. It will have a capacity of almost 15,000.
Ben Wrigley, VP of Project Development with Legends Sales & Marketing, brokered the naming rights deal. The West Haymarket Joint Public Agency approved the agreement.
Mayor Chris Beutler called Pinnacle a “top-notch Nebraska company.” He said, “this long-term partnership is a positive reflection of Pinnacle Bank, the new arena and the future of our community.”
