R-Truth puts John Cena in a tight spot during WWE Presents Monday Night RAW at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas, Oct. 24, 2011.
WWE Summerslam wrestled into Hot Tickets with an Aug. 19 event at Staples Center in Los Angeles, which grossed more than $1 million. The annual, live and pay-per-view event brought 14,205 fans to Staples Center. It was the only sports event to make the charts this week.
Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw make their last appearance on the chart as part of the Brothers of the Sun tour. The duo wrapped their hugely-successful run at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Mass., with two shows that grossed almost $10 million combined. The Aug. 24-25 dates were attended by 111,209 people.
Cirque du Soleil had three offerings make Hot Tickets this week, with Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour, "Dralion" and "Quidam" all doing well in the U.S. and Canada. Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour sold tickets starting at more than $50 for two shows at Rogers Arena in Vancouver. "Dralion" broke the $1 million-mark at 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore, bringing out about 2,500 more people than its Michael Jackson counterpart but at a lower ticket price, and "Quidam" had an eight-show run at Prospera Place in Kelowna, B.C.
Daniel Tosh is the first comedian to show up on the chart in a while. The viral video host brought his stand-up comedy to Santa Barbara (Calif.) Bowl, where almost 5,000 people came to laugh. He has two dates each in September, October, and November at the Terry Factor Theatre at the Mirage in Las Vegas.
