BBking.jpgB.B. King with Tedeschi Trucks Band continued a strong tour through smaller buildings around the U.S. The show at The Joint in Las Vegas grossed just less than $150,000, with tickets starting at $45. Next, King heads to Brazil and stays for the month of October. His first show is at Vivo Rio in Rio de Janeiro, Sept. 29, followed by a performance at Teatro Guaira in Curitiba, Oct. 2. He returns to the U.S. Nov. 1 with a show at Chumash Casino Resort in Santa Ynez, Calif.

A couple of one-off events performed well this week. The 2012 MTV Video Music Awards took in nearly $4 million Sept. 6 at Staples Center in Los Angeles. More than 10,000 people attended the awards show, which had tickets from $65-$650. The Nickelodeon-promoted Slimefest came to Hordern Pavilion in Sydney Sept. 15. The top ticket price for the event was $66.76. Another unique offering also came to Staples Center in Los Angeles, Sept. 15. Kelloggs Tour of Gymnastics Champions brought more than 6,000 attendees to the venue, with a gross of $290,569.

Eric Church represents the country crowd on Hot Tickets this week. His Blood, Sweat & Beers Tour continues to draw well. Church played Sept. 15 at CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh for more than 12,000 people. He had a show two nights prior at Mullins Center in Amherst, Mass., that was attended by nearly 5,000 fans. There was a narrow range of ticket prices for both performances, with costs ranging $37.50-$47.50. Next, Church spends a few days in Texas. Blood, Sweat & Beers heads to Dr Pepper Arena in Dallas, Sept. 20, then Toyota Center in Houston the next night.
