Jimmy Buffett brings Margaritaville to Florida

Margaritaville relocated to Florida as Jimmy Buffett made the Venues Today Hot Tickets chart in two venues in the state. Both Live Nation-promoted shows grossed just over $1.2 million. Buffett will be at BJCC Arena in Birmingham, Ala., Feb. 25 and Tallahassee(Fla.)-Leon County Civic Center Feb. 28.
Country had a strong showing on the chart this week with Jason Aldean, Zac Brown Band, Rascal Flatts and Eric Church making Hot Tickets. Aldean played the largest show at Amway Center in Orlando, Fla., Jan. 22., with more than 16,000 attendees. Rascal Flatts had the highest ticket price, starting at $40 all the way up to $115.50 at Atlantic City (N.J.) Boardwalk Hall. His Jan. 28 show, which had nearly 5,000 fewer attendees than the Jason Aldean performance, grossed about $100,000 more.
Tool wrapped up a successful 12-city tour Feb. 8 at Gwinnett Arena in Duluth, Ga. Their previous show at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., brought out 7,606 fans. Incubus charged $67.54 for their Jan. 31 show at Vector Arena in Auckland, New Zealand. The band continues their international tour with a stop at Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre in Australia Feb. 10 and returns to the U.S. in May.
Nontraditional events this week included JAMZ Youth Cheerleading & Dance Championships at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, which lasted four days at the end of January. More than 14,000 attendees cheered on the cheerleaders. Len Sammons Motorsports brought Gamblers Classic Midget Auto Racing to Atlantic City (N.J.) Boardwalk Hall Feb. 3-4, with tickets starting at $15.
