This January, Venues Today magazine will be honoring three ticketing professionals with our second annual VT Box Office Stars award.

These ticketing professionals accomplished a newsworthy achievement for outstanding service in their own ticket office or in the ticketing industry at large this past year. Recipients were chosen by our subscribers, INTIX members and Venues Today staff. We will present the awards during the INTIX convention in San Antonio, Texas., Jan 17-19, 2012.

Congratulations to our 2012 Box Office Star award winners:

MaryAnn Collins
Nederlander Concerts, Box Office Director

Collins has led Nederlander Concerts ticketing department for over 15 years and has been instrumental in setting up box offices in venues across Southern California. She oversees ticket sales, training and day-to-day ticket management for concerts and special events playing at Nederlander’s seven venues including the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles and the San Jose (Calif.) Civic.

Chris Convery
Box Office Manager for the O.co Stadium and Oracle Arena in Oakland, Calif.

Convery did a fantastic job when rock legends U2 brought their 360 tour to Oakland, Calif., to play at O.co Stadium. Convery was charged with having to reprint, transfer, handle lost tickets and transition the U2 show from 2010 to 2011 due to postponements. The gig was a complete success and broke several records.

Shawn Robertson
Ticket Sales Director at Center Theatre Group, Los Angeles, Calif.

In 2011, Shawn managed Center Theatre Group’s (CTG) successful implementation of dynamic pricing. He oversaw five departments during the switch and over 65 employees responsible for enacting this project, all while continuing to provide outstanding customer service to their 45,000 subscribers across three theatres. As a direct result of Shawn’s work, CTG has already brought in over $2.7 million in additional ticket revenue from its dynamic ticketing implementation.
